Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to our residents in a care home setting.

You will lead the night shift and be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of a maximum of 17 residents under your nightly care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care and a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with nightly living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and emotional support. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client's needs. Supervise clients to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs and progress. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life. Participate in training sessions and team meetings to improve caregiving skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with clients empathetically. Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise other caregivers when necessary. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating via digital platforms. A valid driver's licence is desirable for transporting clients as needed. A caring attitude, patience, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Administer medications according to prescribed schedules Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up living areas and doing laundry NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent Paid experience of working within a care setting NISCC registration
