We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for our residents. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise care staff to deliver high-quality personal and clinical care in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication management, and nutrition.
Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and respect for all residents.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems efficiently.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies at all times.
Experience
Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential.
Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation and reporting.
