Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our night team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. Duties will be varied, and include supporting our residents, delivering person centered care. Your leadership skills will be essential as you supervise staff , administer medication, and ensure that care plans are effectively implemented. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as liaise with families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring continuity of care.

Responsibilities



Supervise and support care staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Maintain clear and accurate documentation of records. Ensure that the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents. Participate in training and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care.

Qualifications



Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable. NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care. Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising staff members. Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with residents and their families. Proficiency in IT systems relevant to healthcare documentation is an advantage. A compassionate kind and caring nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for our residents. Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

In addition to the 33hrs you are expected to cover during periods of staff holidays and absence, and support the senior team to book in medication when required.
