We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. You will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of our senior residents while fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Your leadership skills will be essential as you supervise junior staff and assist in the development of care plans tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
Deliver personal care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans for each resident.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health or behaviour.
Foster open communication with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
Assist with administrative tasks related to care documentation using IT systems as required.
Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
Previous experience in senior care or within a care home setting is essential.
Supervising experience is highly desirable, showcasing leadership capabilities in managing a team.
Medication management
Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when required.
Familiarity with creating and reviewing care plans is an advantage.
