Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in supervising and leading a team. This role involves working closely with residents to ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being while adhering to individual care plans.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members. Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction and participation in activities. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure high-quality care delivery. Ensure compliance with health and safety, Policies & Procedures and Infection Control regulations within the care home. Support residents to health appointments. Support nurses and management through safe and effective care delivery by leading and promoting compliance with training provided.

Skills

Proven experience in senior care within a care home environment is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with residents and their families. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care. Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs is highly desirable.
