What the role involves:
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will carry out care duties for 20 hours a week with the addition element of On-Call.
In addition you will carry out the role of 'Compliance Officer', this will require you to be based at our offices 8 hours a week. As part of this admin role you will be required to audit and monitor staff Training as well as other admin duties as outlined by the Care Manager.
As a carer you will be given a set locality of care calls, this will either be in Southwell up to a 15/20 mile radius, or In Bingham with a 10/15 mile radius.
As expected the care calls involve visiting clients in their own homes and carrying out tasks to meet their needs and promote their own Independence accordingly. This may involve:
Administering medication.
Preparing meals.
Personal care.
Cleaning.
Attending medical appointments.
Supporting hobbies & interests.
Keeping clear & concise records.
Our calls are between 7am and 10pm 7 days a week throughout the year.
As an On-Call Support Staff member, you'll be the first point of contact for any urgent issues that may arise outside of normal working hours. This might involve:
Answering phone calls and responding to messages from carers, clients &/or family members.
Following established procedures to resolve common issues.
Escalating more complex problems to the Care Manager.
Keeping a clear and accurate record of all calls and actions taken.
Attending care calls that are uncovered outside of your own standard run.
When you will be on call:
One Evening per week from 4pm until 11pm.
One Weekend in Every Four: Typically, from 4pm Friday through to 9am Monday.
The on-call rota is planned out for the year however there will be flexibility to swap with other team members for planned leave, in addition there will be opportunity to pick up additional calls to cover staff absences.
Requirements of the role:
At least 1 years experience in Adult Care.
Be available to work every other weekend and some evenings.
You should be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Good communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
A good level of spoken and written English.
Be able to demonstrate good computer literacy and IT skills.
The flexibility to travel to clients outside of your own standard runs.
Level 2 in Health & Social Care is essential and the willingness to work towards Level 3.
The flexibility to work some bank holidays, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day.
It would be desirable that you have knowledge of the local area.
