Our Home
Peebles Care Home is a small, very sociable residential care home in the heart of Peebles in the Scottish Borders, with spectacular views of Tweed Green and the River Tweed. It has recently been beautifully renovated to an exceptionally high standard and has space for up to 31 residents.
Peebles Care Home is a bright, warm care home with spacious lounge and dining areas leading out onto the gardens, and generous rooms with underfloor heating. It is within easy reach of Peebles town centre and its bustling shops, cafes and art galleries, as well as Peebles Eastgate Theatre. It has a friendly, lively atmosphere.
The Role
We are looking for dedicated and experienced senior carer to join our care home. Working as an integral part of the care team and in line with our values. You will play a vital role in developing, planning, and delivering our quality, person-centred care and be responsible for overseeing the care team.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and open communication. Support the manager in maintaining high standards of team engagement and compliance through effective documentation, constructive conversations, and a person-centred approach to team management.
Our care team provide compassionate, individualised care to our residents in line with our values (training to be provided) including.
Develop and implement personalised care plans, tailored to the unique needs and interests of each resident working closely with residents, and other health professionals.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, mealtimes, encouraging independent living and daily routines, demonstrating flexibility and initiative to continuously develop our care to better meet the needs of our residents.
Administer medications and monitor the health and well-being of our residents, recording events in digital care plans.
Communicate effectively with residents, families and healthcare professionals, upholding our commitment to dignity, respect and privacy for all our residents always.
Skills & Experience
SVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, equivalent qualification or willing to work towards this.
A current clear DSC and a willingness to undertake a new one for this role.
Knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements for quality and safety, meet CI standards and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
A compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our residents, including treating everyone we support with dignity and respect.
Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to role model, inspire, motivate and upskill fellow team members.
A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
