Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to elderly residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. You will work closely with other staff members to implement care plans and support residents in their daily activities. Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising junior staff and fostering a positive environment for both residents and team members.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents in daily activities, including meal preparation and medication management. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Develop and maintain individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff. Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required. Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.

Skills

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues. Strong leadership abilities to supervise and motivate team members. Experience in a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with healthcare professionals. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
