Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors. This role involves supervising care staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Supervise and support junior care staff in their duties to ensure compliance with care standards. Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress using IT systems as required. Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in senior care practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families. Proven leadership abilities to supervise a team of care assistants effectively. Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual resident needs. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary. Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes is advantageous.
