Salary:
15.03 per hour
Hours:
34.5 hours every week, worked on a rota basis over 3 days between Monday and Sunday from 8.00am to 8.00pm, including weekends and public holidays
As a Senior Care Assistant/Med Technician, you'll take a hands-on approach to delivering outstanding person-centred care, while also playing a key leadership role on shift. Whether you're supporting a new team member, updating care plans, or simply offering a reassuring hand to a resident, you'll bring confidence, warmth and purpose to everything you do.
You'll work closely with nurses and managers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and you'll be a go-to support for the care team especially in moments that matter most.
What you'll be doing:
Providing high-quality, compassionate care that supports dignity, independence and wellbeing
Leading your team on shift and ensuring care delivery runs smoothly
Responding to emergencies and offering guidance to care assistants under nurse supervision
Reviewing and updating care plans to ensure they stay accurate and person-centred
Supporting residents with daily activities and encouraging participation in wellbeing sessions
Acting as a role model to the team and offering mentorship to new or junior colleagues
Carrying out observations, record-keeping, and supporting handovers
Supporting with supervision, training and the development of team members
Building strong relationships with residents, families and colleagues
What you'll bring:
A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
Previous experience in a similar senior care role
A confident, calm and compassionate approach to leading a team
Knowledge of person-centred care and care planning
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A respectful, patient and supportive manner with residents and colleagues alike
