We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing care plans, supervising junior staff, and ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.
Duties
Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and training as necessary to enhance their skills.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
Drive resident engagement through activities that promote social interaction and well-being.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress, utilising IT systems as required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
Requirements
Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with residents and their families.
Leadership qualities with experience in supervising staff preferred.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents as needed.
Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation is desirable.
