Job Description

To ensure that appropriate individual Person- Centered Care is given to each service user, in accordance with the Care Plans.

To help Service users with their mobility or other physical disabilities if required and to ensure other staff are following the same procedures.

To help organise social activities and to participate in them to help
promote service users' esteem and physical and mental well-being. To accompany service users on community visits where required and as duty Rota allows.

To monitor service users' nutritional and dietary requirements and ensure documented as necessary.

To help with the setting up of dining areas/meal trays in readiness for meal times.

To help serve food. To allocate staff to assist service users with eating and drinking as required or to assist as necessary if none available. To
prepare light meals and snacks if required. Liaise with Cook as necessary.

To ensure the staff have cleared the dining areas after meals, ensuring all dirty cutleries, crockery and utensils are returned to the kitchen and washed as necessary.

To check rooms are tidy and help make and change beds as necessary. Assist with light domestic duties such as tidying rooms, dusting, polishing Empty and check commodes as necessary.

To ensure care for service users who may be temporarily sick or needing special care procedures is followed correctly by staff.

To monitor service users' conditions, and report any changes to the Deputy or Manager.

To assist in the administration, control and storage of drugs and medication. To monitor and record drug refrigeration temperatures report any adverse temperature variances which may affect the efficiency of medication stored within to the Home Manager. To report to Management if there will be a shortage of medication before the end of the monthly cycle.

To monitor the performance of Care Assistants, ensuring that all tasks are satisfactorily completed.

To maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. To report all accidents/incidents to the Home Manager.

To read and write reports, and to participate in staff and service users' meetings as appropriate.

To assist with End-of-Life Care Plans for service users who are terminally ill.

To support and advise new and less experienced staff in the implementation of procedures and service user guidelines

To facilitate good communication within all levels of the Staff team.

To receive and give handovers of information regarding service users at the start and end of every shift and pass on any relevant information to the Manager each day as necessary

To participate in training activities/courses as expected in the home's

To organise staff breaks throughout the shift ensuring the home remains adequately staffed throughout and all duties completed.

To carry out all duties in a professional manner, setting an example to the rest of the team.

To stand for the Deputy Manager in their absence if required.

To participate in the home's on-call roster if necessary.

Ensuring Confidentiality is being followed and that staff are also following the homes confidentiality policy.

Be aware of Fire exits , Evacuation procedures , location of first aid box,

important telephone numbers, Nurse call system, stair lift operation.

To Sign to say you have read and understood all Homes' Policies and Procedures.

To ensure you know where the water, gas and electric cut off points are.

To ensure that infection control procedures is being followed by all staff in the home and your position is to ensure that the stock is maintained in each room in the home.

To work in a team and direct your staff with dignity and respect

To undertake any training provided is essential.

To undertake any other duties, as necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.75 per hour
