Senior Care Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Ellerslie court. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our residents with learning and/or physical disabilities, in a compassionate and respectful manner. This position offers an opportunity to lead and supervise a team of care assistants while ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.

Duties:
- Provide senior care assistance to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Supervise and lead a team of care assistants, providing guidance and support as needed
- Assist in the development and implementation of care plans for residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' care and progress
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of resident living areas
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively
- Knowledge of IT systems related to care management is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Understanding of care home regulations and best practices
- Compassionate and patient demeanor towards residents
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and adapt as needed
