Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to elderly residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and team members.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance as necessary. Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff. Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence for all residents. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents. Drive to appointments or outings as required by the care home.

Experience

Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising staff is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues. Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation is an advantage. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents as needed.
