Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support to residents in a care setting. In this vital role, you will deliver personalised care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being for individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia. Duties



To provide care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Deputy Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time. To provide leadership for the Carers employed at the Home. Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications following guidelines and care plans, ensuring safety and accuracy in medication administration Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular checks in residents' rooms and common areas. Support residents during social activities and facilitate engagement to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being To develop specific competencies to undertake defined Senior Carer roles such as medication administration and person centred care planning In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required. Must have a working understanding of the Care Act and CQC's Essential Standards. To assist in the improvement and maintenance of these standards Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and family members to develop personalised care plans that meet each resident's unique needs. To safeguard the residents at all times; and to always speak up if you think that a resident is being harmed or negatively affected in some way. Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within the Home. Support an open, positive and inclusive management culture. Participate in the development of relevant policies, particularly those pertaining to the caring function.

Experience



Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care and hospice care. Hands-on experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient monitoring tools. Proven ability to work effectively in long-term care settings with a focus on senior care and direct support roles Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engaging residents positively

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.59-13.94 per hour

Expected hours: 22 - 33 per week

Work Location: In person
