The Cedars Christian Residential Home Ltd has recently been taken over by new management and we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for supporting the daily activities of individuals in a care home setting, while also supervising junior staff and contributing to the development of personalised care plans.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Administer medication and assist with logging in new medication
Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving care services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
Help to implement new electronic care system in the home
Skills
Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising staff within a senior care setting.
Strong background in senior care practices and principles.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents and colleagues.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents.
Proficient in IT systems relevant to care documentation and reporting.
Understanding of care plans and the importance of individualised support for each resident.
