We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated experienced Senior Care Assistant (with minimum SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care) to join our team at Briery Park Care Home, Thornhill, Dumfries.
In this role, you will provide essential support to residents with daily medication in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will play a vital part in implementing care plans and supervising junior staff while fostering a warm and supportive environment for our elderly residents.
This role is a full time position with full time hours based on 11 hour shifts daily over 2-3 days or 2-3 nights per week whichever is required by the service to cover holiday and sickness periods.
This is a rare opportunity to join our full compliment of Senior Carers working together to provide the best direct care and medication administration daily.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
Implement and monitor individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure the highest standard of care.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and any changes in their condition.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Uphold the dignity and respect of all residents while promoting their independence.
Experience
Previous experience in a care home or senior care environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
Proficiency in IT systems related to health care documentation is advantageous.
Located within village with daily bus services and local shops, Co-op, Spar, Boots, Restaurants, Pubs, Pharmacy, Bank, local schools and various other businesses.
