To participate in the delivery of care to the service users ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met.

Work effectively with others within the home to ensure that service user's needs are fully met.
To be responsible for overseeing the Induction of new care staff.
To assist in the completion of the Annual Training/Quality assurance plan.
To be responsible for supervising junior & new staff including practical supervision.
Undertake non invasive clinical activities, simple dressings, collecting and testing specimens, physical measurements and assisting in administration of service users medication and to do Venepuncture.
To induct new employees in the use of Care Docs.
To oversee Care Docs is being completed sufficiently.
Duties and responsibilities:
To ensure each service user receives assistance with all elements of their personal care to include washing, dressing and assisting service users in all aspects of daily living.
To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through conversing with them, accompanying them on walks, sharing activities such as letter writing, reading, hobbies and other recreational activities.
To make and change beds, empty and clean commodes, tidy rooms and undertake designated domestic duties as required. In line with COSHH guidelines and the Company Infection Control Policy.
Prepare snacks, serve meals and assist service users at mealtimes as required.
Greet visitors and others courteously.
To provide adequate and appropriate care for those service users confined to bed.
To become familiar with the service users plan of care and comply with them, take note of any reported changes and ensure all staff are made aware.
To have an understanding of service users risk management plans and work appropriately.
To assist service users who have mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence. To assist in the use, maintenance and care of personal aids and equipment.
To inspect service users clothing, launder and ensure repairs are carried out by the designated member of staff.
To answer call bells, the door, answer the telephone and greet visitors and others in a courteous manner.
To participate in the Key worker system as defined within the home.
To actively participate in with homes Induction programme, training and supervision.
To assist in the development of the Annual Training/Quality assurance plan.
To review staff training with the home manager on a quarterly basis.
To give staff supervision as required.
Assist as required with social functions held at the home.
To make written, legible observations of the service users and report any changes in service users condition directly to the nurse in charge.
To attend mandatory training sessions as directed by the Home Manager.
To understand and observe all relevant regulations and company policies and procedures.
To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents/ emergencies. Eg fire, missing service users.
To monitor that staff complete care roles appropriately and in a timely manner i.e bathing rota and weight recording.
Ensure that the home is secure at all times whilst on duty.
To report to relevant persons with respect to the repairs and maintenance of the home.
Encourage staff to take pride in their working environment by not causing unnecessary damage to building and contents by careless movement of wheelchairs, trolleys or hoists.
To be approachable, flexible and supportive to staff and managers.
Lead by example, cultivating good working relationships with all staff and managers.
Challenge any poor practice and report to the appropriate person.
Hand over to on coming staff in an informative manner.
To attend staff meetings when appropriate.
Attend supervision meetings with your appointed supervisor at least six times per year.(pro rata for part time staff)
To maintain confidentiality at all times.
To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Uphold and promote anti discriminatory practice, equality and diversity throughout your work.
To report any incidents or allegations of abuse following the correct steps in line with the company Safeguarding Adult Policies and procedures and Local Safeguarding Adults policies.
To undertake such other duties as may be mutually determined from time to time.
