Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to supervise junior staff. You will play a vital role in ensuring that residents receive personalised care, support, and companionship while promoting their dignity and independence.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Develop and maintain individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences. Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a supportive team environment. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in health status using IT systems. Promote a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Participate in training sessions to enhance personal skills and knowledge related to senior care.

Experience

Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is essential, with a focus on senior care. Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership skills is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are required for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents as needed. Familiarity with developing care plans and using IT systems for record keeping will be advantageous.
