We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for our residents.
Duties
Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of excellent senior care in accordance with individual care plans
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes or concerns promptly
Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Support residents' emotional wellbeing by engaging in meaningful activities and fostering social interaction
Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and resident satisfaction
Skills
Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment, with supervising experience preferred
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively
Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans digitally
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents or attending external appointments
Knowledge of care planning processes and adherence to regulatory standards in senior care settings
