Position: Senior Care Assistant - Days
Responsible to:
Care Manager
Purpose of the Role
As a
Senior Care Assistant (Days)
, you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care that meets their individual needs and preferences. You'll lead by example, supervising care staff, managing care plans, administering medication, and liaising with healthcare professionals to promote residents' health and wellbeing.
You'll champion a

Main Responsibilities
Care & Supervision:
Support the Manager and take charge of the home in their absence.
Administer and record medication safely and accurately in line with company policy.
Liaise with GPs, district nurses, SALT teams, and other healthcare professionals.
Deliver compassionate,
person-centred care
that promotes dignity, respect, and independence.
Lead, guide, and motivate care staff, setting a positive example of best practice.
Supervise the daily delivery of care to ensure residents' individual needs are fully met.
Engage with residents in meaningful, person-centred activities that enhance wellbeing.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Care Planning:
Contribute to the creation, review, and continuous improvement of
individualised care plans
.
Ensure all care is planned and delivered in a
person-centred way
, reflecting each resident's choices, values, and lifestyle preferences.
Accurately record residents' needs, progress, and changes in condition.
Collaborate with residents, families, and professionals to keep care plans current and relevant.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation in line with company and regulatory standards.
Teamwork & Training:
Support and supervise care staff, offering guidance, feedback, and encouragement.
Help train new team members through shadowing and ongoing mentorship.
Attend all required training sessions and seek opportunities for further professional development.
Health & Safety:
Follow all Health & Safety, Fire, and Infection Control procedures.
Report accidents, incidents, or hazards immediately.
Promote and maintain a culture of safety, professionalism, and respect within the home.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Required:
Genuine interest and experience in working with older people or vulnerable adults
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
Strong understanding of
person-centred care planning and record-keeping
Experience and/or qualification in the
Safe Handling of Medicines
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
, or willingness to enrol and work towards it* Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care
