Herbies is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our team.
We are a small vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Exeter and are looking to expand our current operation.
We are looking for someone with kitchen experience, who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
Strong kitchen skills are required for the role, and experience with vegetarian food is essential.
The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and service, ensuring a smooth kitchen operation and maintaining high standards of food safety. They will help design future menus, and run the kitchen when required.
Responsibilities:
- Support the kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking tasks
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines and regulations at all times
- Aid in meal preparation including chopping, peeling, and other basic cooking tasks
- Help with receiving and storing deliveries
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a culinary, restaurant, catering, or kitchen environment is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and assist with various kitchen tasks
- A passion for food preparation and cooking
