We are now recruiting a
Senior Residential Support Worker
to join our team at Woodview House--a newly established home in Wexham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in residential childcare who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead by example.
About You
You'll be a confident, compassionate, and resilient practitioner with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care. You'll also be a natural leader--capable of guiding a team, making sound decisions under pressure, and ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and safely.
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting
Aged 21 or over (per children's home regulations)
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:
Lead and support the team during shifts, ensuring consistent, high-quality care
Oversee the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and feedback
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Support the Registered Manager with rota planning, incident reporting, and audits
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
Promote education, independence, and emotional resilience
Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviour
Act as a role model for both staff and young people

We understand the demands of this role and are committed to staff wellbeing. Shifts are thoughtfully structured to prevent burnout and promote balance:
Minimum 30 hours per week
, with opportunities for additional hours
Split shifts
across the day to support energy and focus
Sleep-in duties
paid at 60 per night
