This Senior Children's Home opportunity is based at Phoenix House working alongside a great team, all working to improve the outcomes of our young people.
Phoenix House is a residential home that accommodates up to 4 young people between the age of 11 and 17 years old, whose emotional and behavioural difficulties are such that they are unable to live within their own or a substitute family setting; and who require an environment in which they can come to terms with their past, in order that they may have a bright future.

What will you be doing?
As a senior member of a team of professional staff caring for children and young people. You will advise staff on shift on the development of care plans and on the resolution of problems that arise, in addition to playing an active role with our young people.
You will set up the daily shift planners, delegate tasks to the residential care workers, provide formal and informal supervision to residential and domestic staff.
There may also be occasions where you are responsible for the smooth running of the home in the absence of a manager and report writing of risk assessments and care plans.
The role includes supporting with day-to-day life, schoolwork, life skills where applicable, accompanying our Young People to health, education and other appointments. We are a small home so we encourage a "family feel" where possible, this involves eating our meals together, creating positive relationships and supporting our residents through key work.
About you
You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You will find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.
You can work independently and make informed decisions, where appropriate.
You have great relationship management skills, able to motivate and lead by example
You are confident liaising and negotiating with other agencies, organisations, departments and representing the home at formal meetings.
You are level 3 or 4 qualified in working with children & young people or would be willing to work towards qualification.
