Thornton House is a two bedded residential unit housing young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible people to join our supportive team.

What will you be doing?
You will provide strong leadership to a team of support staff, guiding and motivating them to deliver the highest standard of care.
You will collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met. You will complete risk assessments, PBSP, and any other paperwork related to the young person, demonstrating evidence-based practices. You will lead a care team focused on the young person's progress and development.
Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and documentation to meet Ofsted regulations.
Conducting regular supervision sessions with team members, offering guidance, feedback, and support to help them excel in their roles.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children within the home, monitoring and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
You will advocate for the rights and best interests of the children, ensuring they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
You will work collaboratively with other team leaders and staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive work environment.
Maintaining accurate records of the children's progress, behaviour, and any incidents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identifying training needs for team members and supporting their professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge
About you
You will bring compassion, resilience, and leadership to the role. You'll have at least two years' experience working with children with challenging behaviours or disabilities, and a strong understanding of child care legislation. You're confident in supervising others, managing small budgets, and maintaining accurate records.
You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You will find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.
You will hold qualifications equivalent to GCSEs or A Levels, or have relevant professional training (e.g. BTEC, NEBSS). and have completed in-service training that meets the requirements for entry into qualifying childcare training.
You are a confident and effective communicator both verbally and in writing and able to work flexibly, including shifts and unsociable hours.
