Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Cullompton, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you passionate about changing young lives for the better? Do you want to be part of something meaningful, where your voice matters, and your impact is real?

We are a small, passionate and non-corporate care provider, based in beautiful Devon, who strive to create a safe, homely and welcoming environment for young people to thrive and in our small way, make a positive difference to their lives, now and in future.

What is the role

"We are a second family, not just for the children, but for each other as well"

You will be working as part of a small team in our 2 bed Ofsted registered children's home, where each day is varied and full of purpose. We work together to make the homes feel as homely and "normal" as possible. Cooking, cleaning, food shopping and normal routines are part of what we do, but we also have plenty of time for days out, laughter and holidays! As a senior practitioner, you will also have some extra responsibilities such as working alongside the management team to support the running of the home and working towards doing supervisions for RCW's and some on-call duties.

What can we do for you

"This is not just another care job; this is a career"

We are passionate about developing our own team members and future managers, and we feel that development pathways and the amazing and ongoing career opportunities in this industry are often overlooked. We are committed to developing our team members in whatever direction they choose to take; whether you want to progress through to management positions, or you want to specialise in a particular area of interest, we want to be the wind in your sails!

You will be provided with full initial training and an extensive and fully supported induction program upon joining us. If you haven't already, in the first two years, you will complete a fully funded level 4 qualification within residential childcare to become a qualified practitioner, with scope to enrol in further qualifications as you move towards management positions. The sky really is your limit with your professional development, and we are here to support and guide you along the way.

We are strong believers in good work life balance, and we provide enhanced Annual Leave entitlement of 280 hours to support this. We are also invested in our team members' wellbeing, so we provide access to free external health and wellbeing services 24/7 and access to a wellness app that includes a range of resources from fitness to mental wellbeing support!
