Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Due to expansion and our new home opening, we are now looking to expand our staff team

Essential Job Requirements

Ability to work within a staff team to provide a high level of care. Provide a safe environment for young people in our care. Ensure your record-keeping, administrative duties are met including care plans, and all relevant paperwork is updated. Experience is desirable but not essential. Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins. Full UK driving license and a car available for work use. Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young Persons Workforce, or working toward it Up to date knowledge of the current legislation governing the sector. Full UK driving licence and have access to a car with business insurance

Desirable Attributes

Experience of Ofsted inspections. Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people. Experience of professionals meetings and working contributive with the professional network.

Main Purpose of your role

To provide a safe and stable environment to the young people in our care, to promote their rights as individuals, and provide them with a high standard of quality care in accordance with the companies policies and procedures. To ensure all young people progress in their lives, with education, health, and their own personal development. To provide firm but fair boundaries and structure to their lives by being a positive role model. To maintain confidentiality and record keeping to a high standard.

Senior staff members will support the deputy and registered manager with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home.

Accountable to

The registered manager and senior management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Safeguarding young people in all aspects of their daily lives. Physical / Emotional / Social needs of young people. Encourage the development of individuals interests and behaviors To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships Provide firm, consistent, and fair behaviors with respect to their behavior Work in a restorative manner Promote the development of healthy living Encourage the development of a positive social network To replicate a family home, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the home To participate in activities and holidays To record the observations in the home, including updating and reviewing risk assessments, care plans, incident reports, and monthly reports. To attend all medical, education, and placement planning meetings where necessary To support when appropriate family contact
To accommodate any altering shift patterns

To work bank holidays including Christmas day, Boxing day, and New Year

Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour
