About the Role
We are seeking a confident and experienced Senior Children's Wellbeing Practitioner to join our therapeutic team within a three-bedded residential children's home, supporting children and young people aged 7-17.
As shift lead, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home during your shift, ensuring that high standards of care, safeguarding, and practice are consistently maintained. You will provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, model trauma-informed and child-centered practice, and contribute to a positive, stable, and nurturing home environment.
The role involves delivering high-quality, therapeutic care that supports children's emotional wellbeing, promotes positive behaviour, and enables them to make progress in line with their individual care plans. You will work closely with managers and external professionals, contribute to risk management and care planning, and support staff development through reflective practice and supervision.
Responsibilities
Lead shifts and provide guidance, support and mentoring to team members
Deliver therapeutic care, routines and emotional support to young people
Oversee key documentation including care plans and risk assessments
Contribute to multi-agency working and represent the home professionally
Uphold therapeutic and safeguarding standards consistently across practice
What We're Looking For
At least 2 years' experience in residential childcare
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
Confident in leading shifts and managing responsibilities
Passionate about promoting recovery and positive outcomes for children
