Role overview

Introduction to the role:
This is an integral role within an exciting and forward-thinking client development team. Reporting to the Senior Client Development Manager and working as part of the Business Development and Marketing team, the key aim of the Senior Client Development Executive is to support revenue growth through working alongside the team in i) the development and delivery of consistently high quality, business-winning tenders and ii) drive strategic client growth within the firm's existing client base.

This role will further develop your business development skills within a legal environment, offering career growth and opportunities for progression in respect of client development (including Bids, Key Account Management and Client Listening). You will be led and mentored by a team of experts in each of these fields, which includes a 12-month training programme to aid your career progression.

The Senior Client Development Executive will have the opportunity to gain experience of working on both existing client opportunities and new business bids and tenders. The

key responsibilities

across Bids, Key Account Management and Client Listening are as follows:

Bids

Delivering high quality technical content for pre-qualification and tender submissions across the firm. Developing bespoke client presentations and other pitch presentation proposals. Panel management, including ongoing application updates. Developing and maintaining a library of precedent text for tenders including capturing critical information to be utilised in future bids. Managing internal stakeholders throughout the tender process. Reviewing responses and proofreading. Taking responsibility for additional projects, as directed by the role's line manager.

Key account planning and client listening



Produce and maintain key client development tools including but not limited to account plans, client relationship maps and team sheets. Produce key quarterly client relationship summaries; this will involve working with a variety of different stakeholders. Support the team by proactively tracking key client news and industry trends. Work with the information desk to produce relevant client research packs Work with the client development team on the production of independent relationship review feedback themes; as well as maintaining the central record of activity undertaken. Work with the CRM team to ensure all key client data is regularly updated on Microsoft dynamics. Support with the internal communication of key client development announcements. Where appropriate support with the onboarding plans of key client wins. Support with the production of client KPI packs, this will involve liaising with the finance business partner team.

Other responsibilities



Support the Head of Client Development and Head of Bids to produce monthly Board/metrics documents and quarterly Client Executive reports. Project manage the organisation of team events and other activity (including weekly team meetings, training, CSR activity and team socials).

What are we looking for:

Important criteria:Desire to be key member of a high performing, collaborative and supportive team that strives to continuously add value to both its internal (lawyers) and external stakeholders (including significant key account clients across several different sectors). Exceptional stakeholder/project management/organisational skills. Adaptable and engaging communication style. Proven ability in writing excellent and winning bid and other content. Strong analytical skills - including the interpretation of data to identify key themes and trends. Advanced IT skills across a broad range of applications including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines, working with a proactive approach under own initiative. Flexibility in approach and a willingness to go the extra mile and work outside normal office hours, if required. Ability to always use own initiative with excellent attention to detail. Previous experience of working in a professional services organisation, ideally within a law firm.
It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:APMP (Association for Proposal Management Professional) Foundation Certification or strong understanding of proposal best practice. Understanding of layout and graphics and knowledge of InDesign is advantageous.
