We're fully digital, powered by Xero, Hubdoc, and TaxCalc, and we pride ourselves on offering straightforward, proactive support to our clients.

As our client base grows, we are expanding our remote team and looking for an experienced Client Manager who can handle both bookkeeping and year-end accounts for our SME clients.

The Role

This is a hybrid role combining bookkeeping, VAT, and CIS responsibilities with year-end accounts preparation and client portfolio management. You'll act as the first point of contact for your portfolio, ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date, while also preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.

60% bookkeeping and client management

You'll work closely with clients, juniors, the offshore team, and Together We Count management.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Oversight & Client Portfolio Management

Manage a portfolio of SME clients as the main point of contact.

Review bookkeeping completed by offshore teams, juniors, and clients.

Prepare VAT returns, CIS submissions, and management accounts to deadlines.

Monitor ledgers and resolve outstanding client queries.

Identify process improvements and contribute to systemising client workflows.

Provide CIS and VAT Reverse Charge advice.

Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.

Onboard new clients into the practice.

Support training and development of team members.

Year-End Accounts & Compliance

Prepare year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102/105 for UK limited companies.

Prepare corporation tax computations and submit to HMRC.

Complete self-assessment tax returns.

Calculate Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and prepare P11Ds where required.

Liaise with Companies House for incorporations, confirmations, and director changes.

Register clients for VAT, PAYE, CIS, and other services as needed.

Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, Companies Act, and HMRC regulations.

Team Leadership & Internal Collaboration

Review work prepared by junior and offshore team members.

Provide coaching, support, and technical assistance to colleagues.

Collaborate regularly with internal teams via Zoom, Teams, and email.

Knowledge & Experience

Fully or part qualified: ACA / ACCA / ATT / FMAAT, or qualified by experience.

Minimum 6 years' UK accountancy practice experience.

Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 & 105), Companies Act, VAT, and CIS.

Previous experience managing a client portfolio.

Experience reviewing bookkeeping, CIS and VAT returns.

Familiarity with UK construction and trades sector.

Technical Skills

Xero Certified (must provide certification).

Proficient in Hubdoc, TaxCalc, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Confident with multiple cloud-based systems.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage workload through to completion.

Working Hours & Compensation

Fully remote role.

Monday to Friday between 8am-6pm UK time (flexible within this window).

Full-time employed position (35-40 hours per week).

Rate of pay: competitive, depending on experience.
