The evidence speaks for itself; we have a proven track record of our long term middle grades successfully becoming consultants via the process with the full support of the department, they would be happy to talk to you about this informally. There will be a specifically designed training and teaching package for all successful applicants and there will be a designated Consultant supervisor for the duration of the rotation.

From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the 24 hour Emergency Department rota. The rotation is initially offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months after which we would envisage an extension on a mutually agreed basis to a 12 month rolling contract.

There is also a capacity to do extra 'bank work' within the ED and our staff are given priority so that we can secure our own trusted staff to ensure no compromise in patient care.
