DUTIES OF THE POSTThe post-holder will be required to be a non-resident on-call in rotation with the other SpRs.Office accommodation and secretarial support is provided.The Middle Grades in the department are expected to arrange and cover each others duties and on-callcommitments during periods of absence.The post-holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies andunforeseen circumstances.The main duties and responsibilities of the appointee will be: To work with the orthopaedic surgeons across both Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals to provide anefficient and effective orthopaedic service.To provide inpatients, day case and outpatients care for the patients requiring elective emergencyorthopaedic surgery, in accordance with the Trust contractual obligations.To adopt a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and in partnership with othercolleagues working in the speciality for the proper function of the department to which he/she isappointed.To ensure that clinical audit was an ongoing programme and that agreed actions required as indicatedfrom audit were implemented.
