PLEASE NOTE: The adult critical care directorate at St George's Hospital is offering multiple roles for an August 2025 or February 2026 start. This is the application for:
Senior Clinical Fellow in Adult Critical Care.
Minimum requirement: Registrar level or equivalent or post completion of core training in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine Training, any of the Acute Care Common Stems or Surgery.
Full time appointment from August 2025 or February 2026

Main duties of the job
St George's Hospital is a major trauma centre in south-west London and provides all tertiary specialities. Clinical fellows are required to work as part of the critical care team. Successful candidates will be able to work in General, Cardiac or Neuro Intensive Care and will be able pursue a special interest areas including Perioperative care, Trauma, Education or simulation. Candidates who wish to obtain a CESR will be supported, and can obtain experience in Adult Critical Care (sub-specialities), PICU, Acute Medicine and Anaesthesia.
During this post, successful applicants will be able to develop the necessary skills to manage a variety of critical care patients. Candidates that have completed their specialist training can gain great experience and build up their skills and confidence in view of a future consultant appointment. The applicant should either be a trainee at a registrar level or equivalent (ST3-4 and above) in anaesthesia, intensive care medicine, emergency medicine, general medicine, or surgery or have a CCT in one of these specialities with the respective postgraduate qualification. Applicants should have registrar level experience in Intensive Care and be ready to work at this level with the supervision and support of a Consultant. This job is ideal for doctors wishing to gain experience in one of the busiest Intensive Care departments in Europe. The experience gained will be beneficial to trainees wishing to pursue a wide variety of career aims.

  • At least 6 months experience in intensive care medicine
  • Ability to take responsibility for assessment and clinical care of patients
  • Experience of NHS or similar healthcare system

  • Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology or neurosurgery
  • Experience in anaesthesia, medicine or surgery
Skills
Essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all situations
