Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Job Description


To provide, develop and promote a responsive, patient focused, highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients and staff within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
To deliver specialist information and expert advice to all members of the multidisciplinary team to maximise patient pharmaceutical care and ensure that medicines are prescribed, administered and supplied in a safe, effective and economic manner and to reduce harm caused by medication errors.
To provide direct supervision and training to clinical pharmacy staff, develop and provide training regarding the use of medicines and medicines management principles to clinical staff, non-clinical staff, service users and carers.
To support the Head of Clinical Pharmacy for Bed Based and Place Based Services in the delivery of all aspects of the Pharmacy Service.

  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy (4 Years Course) or Equivalent
  • Completed and passed Pre-Registration training and professional exam
  • General Pharmaceutical Council Registered Practising Pharmacist Member
  • Post-graduate Certificate or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experiential learning.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
