We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Clinical Researcher in Experimental Cancer Therapeutics to join The Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Oxford. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a programme of research trials and clinical cancer activity for the Department of Oncology and Oxford Cancer.
Our research focuses on the testing of novel therapies, on a bespoke 15 bedded ward incorporating a sample handling laboratory. You will work under the direction of our Principal Investigators, (who are world-leading clinicians and clinician scientists), a team of research nurses and clinical fellows; work across the broad portfolio of studies, providing expertise in patient management and protocol compliance.
You will be responsible for developing, leading and executing early phase clinical trials and translational research, in collaboration with senior research staff from the Department of Oncology and the NHS.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic medical oncologist who has an established interest in early drug development. You will closely work with several different teams within the translational research groups of the Department of Oncology and CRUK Oxford Cancer Centre, particularly the Translational Histopathology Laboratory, Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre and the Oxford Molecular Diagnostics Centre.
You will participate in all clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, risk management and quality improvement activities as required by Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust/University of Oxford and external accrediting bodies.
An honorary contract with the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust will be required for the successful candidate.
This is a full time post (40 hours per week), fixed term for three years in the first instance.
