Interviews



If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:



GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.



If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate



A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body).



If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.



The successful candidate will be working within a busy, fast paced 28 bedded ward, consisting of a double template.



An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Nursing Assistant to join ward 106/107, specialising in Urology and Gynaecology. You will be caring for patients pre and post operatively with Urological and Gynaecological conditions and procedures.



We are looking for a pro-active and dynamic individual, who is passionate about the standards of care we deliver to our patients.



The applicant will need to be able to demonstrate a high standard of nursing care to support the existing nursing and clinical team. You would be helping the ward to develop and build a team of dedicated nursing assistants who pride themselves in delivering high quality care. Good communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.



You will be supporting the qualified Nursing staff to provide pre and post operative care to patients. You will be expected to provide direct patient care including supporting patient's with all activities of daily living, all point of care testing, the promotion of infection control processes, venepuncture under supervision and transfer to wards and theatres as required within trust policy. Participate in completing observations, recording fluid input and output, bladder scan and removal of catheters.

The main responsibilities involve



Supporting the qualified team with the management of pre and post operative patients from admission to point of discharge or transfer to another area.



Supporting the qualified team with the flow within the unit on a shift by shift basis.



Supporting nursing team with all aspects of care and patient management within the ward.



Completing both handwritten and electronic documentation at a high quality standard.



Supporting senior team with organisational responsibilities and service innovation.



To attend arranged staff meetings.



To ensure statutory and mandatory training are completed in a timely manner.
