Operating from our bespoke 16000 sq/ft facility in Hethel, we offer CNC Turning multi-axis Mill-Turning, and 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Milling services for the Space, Aerospace, Defence, and Motorsport sectors.

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Fanuc milling Programmer/Setter. The candidate would need to have a strong background in CNC milling with a minimum of 5 years programming experience. As a Programmer/Setter you would be expected to have knowledge of a manufacturing environment, assisting the flow of work through the machine shop, with setting and programming milling centres as a priority and good knowledge of surrounding machine upkeep.

This is a full-time position, with remuneration negotiable depending on experience. The role also offers progression potential for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:



Programming & Technical Expertise



Develop offline CNC programs for simultaneous 5-axis machining operations using CAD CAM software. Experience of hyperMILL is desirable.

Interpret 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to generate efficient toolpaths.

Define machining strategies and select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and tolerances to optimise cycle times and surface finish.

Simulate and verify toolpaths to prevent collisions and ensure part accuracy prior to production.

Familiarity with Fanuc control system is essential.

Machine Setup Support



Collaborate with machinists and shop floor staff to validate programs during initial setups and resolve any on-machine issues.

Provide setup sheets, tool lists, and fixture instructions for production use.

Assist in proving out new programs and implementing changes based on machine behaviour or material characteristics. This may involve elements of setting.

Process Optimisation



Continuous improvement of CNC programs for efficiency, repeatability and cost reduction. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles is desirable.

Identify opportunities for automation, better tooling, or advanced machining techniques.

Reduce scrap and rework by ensuring high-quality output from the first part.

Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with production planners, and quality inspectors to ensure quality and delivery targets are met.

Assist with quotations and job cycle time estimation.

Proven experience of training and mentor junior programmers or apprentices.

Compliance & Safety



Ensure all programming complies with company and industry quality standards, tolerances and safety requirements.

Follow best practices for material handling, machine operation, and software usage.

Stay updated on new CAD/CAM software capabilities, CNC technologies, and industry trends.

Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:



Strong background in CNC milling with a minimum of 5 years programming experience, within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup.

Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control processes.

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Desirable:



Apprenticeship or formal training in CNC machining or a related field.

Experience with various CNC control systems, including hyperMILL.

Simultaneous/ 3+2 5 axis experience is desirable though not essential.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.

Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

39 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 0800 - 1700 & Friday 0800 - 1300
