The Role



We are seeking a trained and skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our team.

You will be primarily programming, setting and operating the following machines:

CMZ TTL66 FANUC 31HMI - SolidCam software proficiency is essential to assist the programming of the CMZ machine.

Citizen B20 FANUC,

A32 MITSUBISHI.

You will also programme, set and operate the following as and when required:

Star RNC16 FANUC 0T,

Mori-Seiki AL2B FANUC 10T,

Cincinnatti Dart VMC ACROMATIC A2100.

You must be willing to operate other machines where required, produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings and ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities



Machine Setup and Tooling: Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling and fixtures. Select appropriate cutting tools and make tool changes, as necessary. Conduct tool offsets and work offsets to ensure accurate machining. Need experience of programming using Fanuc controls. Need experience programming and setting twin turret, twin spindle and sliding heads turning machines. CNC Operation: Program/Set & Operate CNC machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy. Work to engineering drawing tolerances, route card instructions and inspection procedures to produce components in line with the quality requirements of the business. Be responsible for the quality of parts being produced by the CNC team Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machines in optimal condition. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct in-process checks and measurements to verify accuracy and quality. Identify and address any issues that may affect the quality of the product. Perform computer transactions within the shop floor software. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including quality standards and production schedules. Ensure the safety of yourself and operators is maintained at all times. Manage and maintain Health & Safety within the business Responsible for maintaining and improving the existing ISO standards throughout the business

Personal Skills / Experience



Evidence of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or other related field and proficiency in CNC programming. Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator in a manufacturing environment. CAD software proficiency is essential. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent people skills with the ability to confidently deal with a range of people. A team player, who is able to work with team members but who is also self-motivated and able to work alone. Flexible approach with a can do attitude, able to overcome obstacles with a team approach. Willing to be trained where deemed necessary.
