We are seeking a Senior Communications Officer to join our Campaigns and Corporate Identity team on a fixed term contract until 29 September 2024.

Who we are
The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work to promote public confidence in the democratic process and ensure its integrity.

The Campaigns and Corporate Identity team is responsible for delivering major public awareness campaigns to ensure that as many people as possible are able to take part in the democratic process. We lead on the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s internal communications and manage the use of its corporate identity on things like publications and branded materials. We are also responsible for producing a suite of voter-facing forms.

Who we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for
As a Senior Communications Officer, you will be a member of the team that delivers our multi-media campaigns ahead of elections and sets the standards for our external communications.

You will be proactive, self-motivated, and able to build close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at various levels of seniority.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be able to guide the work of more junior staff and bring creative ideas to projects outside your immediate brief.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the delivery of voter registration and voter ID campaigns
  • Manage key team systems and processes, including budgets and evaluations
  • Help coordinate the delivery of corporate publications, design work and voter materials
  • Build effective working relationships key stakeholders, including our media agency
