Salary



The salary for this position is 42,920 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.



In line with our EDI strategy and Total Reward policy, we calculate our salaries based on benchmarking data across the charity sector. To ensure fairness for existing staff and new joiners, we do not offer salaries above the advertised rate.
Key Responsibilities


We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Communications Officer to be part of GOSH Charity's busy and ambitious Communications team. We're looking for someone who is adept at securing well messaged, impactful press coverage across national and broadcast media to maximise reach and cut-through. You will need to be highly organised and confident with managing both internal and external stakeholders, including the Charity's suite of corporate partners and high value donors. Reporting into the External Communications Manager, this is a great opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to take ownership of high-profile projects across the organisation, whilst working with a dynamic team sharing the stories of inspirational GOSH families and integrating our work across our digital channels. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


You will be a motivated and seasoned communications professional, with experience of working across high-profile PR campaigns. A natural relationship builder with a keen eye for detail, you'll be comfortable managing stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation, using your negotiating skills where necessary. Media liaison will be second nature to you, and you will be experienced in securing impactful press coverage across a range of different media titles to help ensure cut-through for the charity's campaigns and activities.

The ideal candidate will have:Extensive, proven experience in delivering high profile and effective proactive PR campaigns Proven experience of responding to reactive media enquiries on a variety of different subjects Broad, demonstrated PR experience, including in fundraising PR particularly of high value corporate partnerships and red-carpet special events Experience handling issues and crisis communications, and dealing with sensitive issues Experience of working with celebrities and/or influencers Experience of interviewing people sensitively and managing the consent process Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally, being tactful, diplomatic and persuasive when providing advice and guidance To engage and influence colleagues and stakeholders at all levels within an organisation Attention to detail and providing high-quality and precise work, including ability to work well under pressure Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines Preferably, experience of working in a not-for-profit organisation, though this is not essential.
