JOB DESCRIPTION



The Senior Carer is responsible for the continuity of care for all Service Users in their area of work. This vital role has a huge impact on the lives of many people who rely on our care and support.

The ability to solve problems and think clearly when under pressure is essential for this role in our company. You will use your excellent planning, organisational and IT skills to make sure that each Service User receives the care and support that they expect on time.

Your role will involve supervising and inspiring a team of dedicated Care Assistants alongside the Managers and Directors. You will work with a team of like-minded individuals, all with a desire to ensuring that our Service Users are comfortable in their home.

GENERAL DUTIES:



Representing the company in a professional manner, ensuring correct uniform and standards of dress are always adhered to.

Setting a clear and positive example to other staff members.

Ensure all mandatory training is kept up to date.

Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained and report any breaches to management.

Responding efficiently to day-to-day changes in the care and support packages and inform the office of any concerns that need to be escalated.

Providing advice, training, supervision, and other support to Care Workers as required.

Take part in the out of hours emergency on-call rota as required.

Effectively deal with emergency on-call issues, for example covering calls either directly or indirectly when Care Workers are sick or absent.

Record emergency calls and pass the information to appropriate parties.

Ensure all staff members have been made aware of any changes in their planned rota.

Inform any Service users whose visits may be late due to unforeseen circumstances.

Always apply Bhandal Homecare policies and procedures and make sure accidents and incidents are recorded, reported, and acted upon.

Work effectively with Service Users, their families and representatives, other social and health care professionals, managers, and staff from Bhandal Homecare to deliver high quality homecare services.

Attend training activities, appraisals, and development meetings.

The ability to support customers with all aspects of their daily living in a manner that respects their dignity, is non-judgmental and promotes their independence, choices, and privacy.

The ability to use own initiative and work alone or as part of a team especially in an emergency.

Knowledge of how to recognise abuse and safeguarding procedures.

Work alongside the office to ensure that Rotas are suitable for staff and Service Users

Work alongside the office to take on new care packages and staff members.

It is the responsibility of the senior carer to ensure that all care calls are covered and that no visits are missed. If all other ways of covering have been exhausted and are not successful, the Senior Carer must be willing to go out and do the visits themselves if they re not already on shift.

This list is not exhaustive and from time to time you may be required to undertake additional duties. We will provide full training in line with regulatory requirements.

Full UK Driving license and have access to your own vehicle is essential.



Interviews and training are held at our office in Mansfield.

Due to the nature of this role, our care team are required to be 18 years of age or above.
