As a

Senior Complex Care Assistant

, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care, supporting your colleagues, and ensuring the effective day-to-day delivery of each client's bespoke care plan.

About the Role

The

Senior Complex Care Assistant

provides both hands-on complex care and leadership within the client's care package. You will act as a role model and first point of contact for other care team members, supporting with training, mentoring, and ensuring best practice in line with Wraparound Care 24's standards and the client's clinical plan.

This role combines compassionate, high-quality personal care with the responsibility of maintaining safe and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, person-centred care for clients with

complex medical and social needs

, following detailed care plans. Carry out or supervise

specialist clinical procedures

as trained (e.g., tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, catheterisation, suctioning, seizure management). Support the

Clinical Lead

by ensuring daily care records, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate and up to date. Provide

leadership, supervision, and guidance

to other Care Assistants, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Assist in

inducting and mentoring new staff

, sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of learning and compassion. Report any clinical or safeguarding concerns promptly to the Clinical Lead. Communicate effectively with the client, their family, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Promote independence, dignity, and emotional well-being at all times. Support the management team with

rota organisation, handovers, and feedback

on service quality and performance. Uphold

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience supporting clients with

complex care needs

, ideally within a home or community setting. Strong understanding of

clinical procedures

and ability to train or mentor others. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Confidence in handling emergency situations and responding calmly under pressure. Compassionate, reliable, and motivated to deliver outstanding care.

Qualifications

NVQ/QCF Level 3 (or higher) in Health & Social Care - essential*.
Up-to-date

Mandatory and Complex Care Training

(refresher training provided). Enhanced

DBS Check

. Valid

UK driving licence

(desirable, depending on client location). Additional qualifications in

leadership, medication administration

, or

clinical care

are advantageous.
