Senior Compliance Officer
! You will proactively support our compliance teams by carrying out health, safety, and fire inspections. Inspections will be carried out in the communal areas of our buildings to support us in ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative obligations for building safety.
We own and manage c.7,500 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Requirements
Outline of Key Responsibilities...
Carry out periodic health, safety, and fire inspections in the communal areas of our residential properties to support our wider compliance regime
Record detailed findings of inspections on our Health, Safety and Risk Assessment (HSRA) database
Identify and risk assess safety hazards by considering likelihood of occurrence and consequence. This will ensure those resolving the issues can prioritise these effectively
Work collaboratively with stakeholders by recommending how risks can be mitigated to ensure we resolve issues quickly and get it right first time
Inspections will include but are not limited to the following checks:
Functionality of fire and exit doors
Escape routes are free from obstructions
Fire safety signage is appropriately placed
Firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers and fire blankets) is in date and being tested
Storage of items in communal areas
Visual inspection of electrical safety in shared spaces
Ensuring electrical appliances are on the Personal Appliance Testing programme and in date
Building security
We are looking for someone who has...
IOSH Managing Safety (or willing to work towards this)
NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent (or willing to work towards this)
Ability to assess & mitigate health & safety risks and hazards
A basic understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework for social housing
Basic knowledge of building maintenance
A full UK driving licence
Line management experience of managing a frontline team
