Your Role
------------- As a Senior Computer Vision and AI Engineer, you will work on AI based medical device solutions applied to echocardiographic medical images. You will work within the AI and Computer Vision Engineering Team to create solutions that satisfy clinical needs in cardiovascular medicine using deep learning, computer vision, mathematical, statistical and machine learning methods. You will draw on your technical and scientific expertise to keep the company at the forefront of ground-breaking research.
Your Responsibilities

+ Independently carry out research to characterize and address problems related to echocardiography image analysis.
+ Develop new algorithms and computational tools for AI-enabled computational medical image analysis involving image quantification, disease detection, outcomes predictions, etc.
+ Evaluate and optimise AI models for computational performance and speed.
+ Document research findings, experiments, and results clearly and concisely.
+ Ensure you keep up to date with the latest advances in AI, deep learning and medical imaging and utilise these new techniques in your research
+ Develop tools to be used in assisting with development workflows
+ Review code created by other team members
+ Work with development team to assist deployment of research code into production
+ Mentor junior team members within the team, continuously developing your skills and helping others develop theirs
+ Input into product designs, and providing constructive feedback
+ Complete regulatory filing documents related to AI development within the USA geography.
+ Write up research papers for the purposes of publication, and abstracts to present at international conferences
+ Follow good information governance practice throughout this job role and ensure compliance with Ultromics information security and data protection policies in all applicable assigned tasks.

Requirements

Your skills and experience
+ Doctorate in Machine Learning, Image analysis, AI, computer science or other mathematical/scientific background, or equivalent research experience
+ 3+ years of industry experience or equivalent in the field.
+ Strong proficiency with scientific programming languages such as Python, and libraries such as Tensorflow or PyTorch.
+ Experience with industry grade software development and project management tools (git, CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, etc).
+ Strong presentation, writing and communication skills.
+ Analytical skills - ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it.
+ Good organisational and project management skills.
+ Works effectively with others, contributes strongly, recognises the value of differing contributions, supportive and collaborative.
+ Strong competence on deep learning and machine learning techniques.
+ Strong competence on image processing and computer vision techniques, such as CNNs, and vision transformers.
+ Ability to work to tight deadlines.
+ Strong intellectual curiosity and passion to apply innovative ideas to solve real-world problems.
+ Strong research track record in the field.
+ Adaptability/flexibility - adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions
+ Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure for training and deployment of AI models.
