We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated

Catastrophe Modeler

consultant with specialized experience in

earthquake and tsunami modeling

to support and enhance our Natural Catastrophe (NatCat) property and casualty (P&C) risk assessment capabilities. The ideal candidate will

Touchstone

and

RiskLink

model development

,

building design analysis

, and

damage assessment

, particularly within the

Caribbean region

.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and refine catastrophe models for

earthquakes and tsunamis

, with a focus on high-risk regions such as the Caribbean. Work with leading modeling platforms, including

Touchstone

(AIR) and

RiskLink

(RMS), for risk quantification and scenario analysis. Analyze regional exposure data and perform

hazard

,

vulnerability

, and

financial modeling

for natural catastrophe (NatCat) events. Support the development of custom models and enhancements to existing models based on local building codes and construction practices. Collaborate with structural engineers to integrate

building design

parameters into damage estimation models. Perform

damage assessments

and post-event analysis to calibrate and validate model outputs. Provide insights and technical expertise to underwriting, actuarial, and reinsurance teams to support portfolio risk management. Prepare technical reports and communicate modeling results to internal stakeholders and clients.

Requirements:



Master's or Bachelor's degree in

Engineering

,

Geophysics

,

Disaster Risk Management

,

Catastrophe Modeling

, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in

catastrophe modeling

, preferably focused on

earthquakes, tsunamis

, and regional NatCat risks. Proficiency in catastrophe modeling software:

Touchstone (AIR)

and

RiskLink (RMS)

. Strong understanding of

structural vulnerability

,

building codes

, and

damage assessment techniques

. Familiarity with

Caribbean regional hazards

, building stock, and exposure datasets is a strong plus. Experience in

GIS

,

Python

,

SQL

, or other data analytics tools is advantageous. Strong communication and documentation skills.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 800.00-900.00 per day
