The Content Partnerships and Sales team is a hybrid UKTV and BBCS team combining responsibility for selling BBCS and UKTV content to UK and Irish TV broadcasters and VOD platforms, rest-of-world distribution of UKTV content (partnering with BBCS and 3rd -party distributors) and a strategic focus on securing funding for UKTV original commissions. Our team excels in maximising revenue from our IP through innovative deals and partnerships that navigate the complexities of our markets, and in leveraging our relationships, expertise and creative thinking to facilitate the commissioning of brilliant new content.
Purpose of the role
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Content Partnership Executive (SCPE), working closely with the Head of Content Partnerships & Sales (HOCPS). In this pivotal role, you'll facilitate a smooth flow of distribution revenue across UKTV commissions and provide essential support throughout the entire content lifecycle--from development and pitching to contracting and recoupment tracking. You'll be instrumental in analysing and presenting international sales trends, managing distributor allocations and liaising with production on reversions, deliverables, and transmission schedules. What we would like you to bring to the role....key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities
Experience
Experience in broadcast media, with a background in sales, acquisitions, content production and/or other commercial roles
Financially savvy with good commercial acumen - must have prior experience of working in a commercial and fast-paced environment
Some experience of working with and/or an understanding of distribution revenue flow, with an ability to interpret and track revenue/recoupment information ideal but not essential
Experience in reviewing commercial points in contracts preferred
Knowledge
An understanding of the production process and the global content market is essential
A good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, PPT, & Word
Knowledge of the global content landscape, within English speaking territories, preferred but not essential
An editorial eye and creative thinking ability would be beneficial
A sound understanding of the negotiation process

What you will get to work on....key outputs and responsibilities of the role
Set up tenders to secure advances on future sales of UKTV non-scripted commissions by adapting treatments and compiling pitch materials (scripts, synopses, mood boards, performance data), focused on the international market.
Drive the tendering process: pitch titles, track and appraise offers/proposals and negotiate terms
Work closely with UKTV Commissioning regarding funding and revenue opportunities across the slate Build productive working relationships with other key internal stakeholders--such as Production Management, Channels, Finance, Content LBA, Insights and Marketing--and externally with distributors, broadcasters, producers, agencies and other funding bodies
Effectively communicate key information about front and back-end revenue to the rest of the business, report progress against targets, manage key processes and assist with forecasting and administrative tasks as needed
Work to implement the integration of distribution tracking information across UKTV commissions into a rights management system - such as Rightsline - and ensure the accurate capture and reporting of such information in that system on an ongoing basis
Work closely with the Senior Content Partnerships & Sales Support, delegating tasks to them such as updating and maintaining internal trackers, creating purchase orders, working with Finance to raise invoices and liaising with external partners to source revenue statements. Help them develop necessary skills and experience to support Content Funding activities and to take on more responsibility over time, working with the HOCF and Senior Content Sales Executive to keep their workload manageable and balanced
Work with the Senior Content Sales Executive and HOCF to help maximise the revenue opportunity from UK/Ireland sales of UKTV commissions
Create analysis and presentations on existing income generated by UKTV Originals internationally, as well as the potential for future revenue
Work closely with the Content LBA team to ensure negotiated terms are clearly communicated, understood and papered
Work closely with Production Management to ensure that underlying rights and clearances are understood and communicated to funding partners, compiling schedules of residuals where necessary
Work with the finance team to identify advance/deficit/net revenue due, keeping them up to date on progress
Track the progress of projects across genres from early development through to greenlight and delivery. Actively participate in discussions on how UK originals can better cater to international audiences and highlight financial benefits to the company. Provide insight and feedback on developments in terms of international commercial opportunities, proactively plan to ensure the smooth flow of upfront and backend revenue for each project
Navigate and fulfil external queries and requests ad hoc
Take ownership of commercial clip license agreement process
Support HOCF in forecasting revenue for the year and update as required
Attend relevant industry events, representing UKTV's best interests
Prepare ad hoc analysis and present as required to various areas of the company (typically Commissioning, Strategy and Commercial), looking at revenue and trends internationally
