Job Title: Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
Salary: \xc2\xa355,000 - \xc2\xa360,000 per annum
Type: Permanent

Panoramic Associates are pleased to be working with one of our long-established local authority clients in the South East to assist them with recruiting a Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join their well-established legal department on a permanent basis.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced commercial contracts lawyer to join a large legal department with interesting work & a very flexible working environment! It would also be a great opportunity for a Lawyer/Solicitor who has 3-5 years of experience within commercial law in the public sector who is now looking to take their next step up in their career to a senior role. and is willing to step up for a Senior role.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis however, there is great flexibility on offer within the team to work the majority of the time on a remote basis with only occasional office attendance being required.

The successful candidate will join a supportive, successful in-house legal team that delivers effective legal advice, representation and assistance to the Council. This role will allow you to work as part of a team of Commercial Contracts Lawyers to provide advice across a broad range of contract and procurement issues and support the local authority in the provision of its services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the organisation regarding the services they provide.
  • Provide legal advice regarding contracts and procurement issues.
  • Expect to deputise for the Principal Solicitor.
  • Actively contribute to provide quality legal service.
  • Provide quality proactive legal advice on issues including, Public Contract, Regulations matters, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC\xe2\x80\x99s and JCT construction Contracts, general contract queries.
  • Negotiating and drafting documentation.
  • Providing solutions-focused and enabling advice on a range of (mainly commercial and procurement) matters
  • Advising Members and Senior Officers of the Council
  • Managing competing priorities to achieve client/statutory deadlines
An ideal candidate will consist the following skillset and attributes.
  • 3-5+ years PQE as a Contracts and Procurement Lawyer.
  • Previous experience working within a local authority
  • A quick learner with an ambition to progress.
  • Effective team working.
