As a Senior Cost Analyst you will be the go-to expert on non-commodity costs. You will be responsible for forecasting non-commodity cost items for B2B gas and power supply contracts, and maintaining these forecasts within our pricing systems. You will have an in-depth knowledge of industry costs, and an appreciation of ongoing policy changes.

The role will require meeting changing business and industry requirements to continually improve our costing methodology, supporting in the delivery of our commercial objectives. Maintaining the balance between risk management and delivering a competitive cost base is key to success in this role.

What We Need From Yu



Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:

Delivery of non-commodity cost forecasting models and methodology. Maintenance of all cost stack data, ensuring that pricing systems are kept up to date and pricing accurately. Leading on the analysis and forecasting of non-commodity costs, understanding the differences between forecasts and outturn, and making methodology changes as required. Representing Yu Energy at an industry level for non-commodity cost policy changes. Supporting internal teams with any pricing and costing related queries, including providing regular commentary on drivers for cost changes. Liaise with the Trading team to ensure wholesale energy and green certificate costs and risks are accurately reflected in non-commodity forecasts. Support in the development of the analytical capability of the Pricing team.


About Yu

A minimum of 3 years' experience in the energy industry, in a pricing and costing focussed role Excellent numerical and analytical skills; an understanding of statistical modelling would be advantageous. Significant experience of electricity and gas non-commodity costs Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent stakeholder management skills Self-motivated with an ability to work independently
