Main Purpose of Job

Support the origination efforts of the Relationship Managers to grow a high-quality Lending book of the Bank in line with targets. To support the CIB/Business Banking teams by providing subject matter expertise in structuring and documenting in line with the Bank's risk management guidelines To act as the primary point of contact on issues related to Fixed Income and Trading Book. Possess strong knowledge and awareness of financial concepts (i.e. financial analysis /financial markets / credit ratings), Fixed Income Products and credit risk management. Interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, present verbal or written conclusions in a clear and organized manner, and handle time-sensitive requests in a quick and reasoned way. Work collaboratively with other stakeholders to develop and produce positive customer experiences and outcomes. Periodically review and update Credit and other related Policies Ad-hoc department tasks

Responsibilities:



Generate fundamental research using fundamental analysis to evaluate counterparty credit risk of individual names Assess the relative value of the bonds to inform decision making Engage constructively and positively with people at all levels in the Bank Publish credit reports that highlight recommendations Design, build, and execute models to enrich the reporting needs of the department Assessing and providing constructive challenge on the structuring of transactions offered to clients via bilateral or syndicated/Club arrangements (to assess third party as well as primary obligor risk and to understand and assess related product risk from use of trade instruments and commodity or structured trade finance offerings. Act as a subject matter expert for sectors within the fixed income portfolio Work collaboratively with relationship managers/officers, traders, portfolio managers, and other analysts to generate positive outcomes for the Bank Significant input in ensuring that policies and procedures are effective and in line with regulatory guidelines and credit risk framework Play significant role in reviewing and updating of the department's risk controls to ensure effectiveness

Skills and Capabilities:


Strong previous experience as a Credit Analyst (analyzing Financial Institutions, Trade Finance, Sovereign Credit, Commodity Finance) Good understanding of fixed income/structured trade facilities Degree educated or equivalent

CFA qualification desirable


Language Proficiency (English and French) Strong quantitative, analytical and presentation skills Strong knowledge of credit ratings ecosystem Technically strong and a skilled verbal and written communicator Research skills to evaluate counterparty risk and generate credit/country reports Attention to detail Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to organize and manage human resources to attain goals. Excellent organizational skills to ensure timely delivery of credit reports Team player, as there is need to work collaboratively across different units

Experience:



At least 5-Years of demonstrable experience in Credit Risk / Fixed Income or similar role.
