Location:

Cornford Lane, Pembury, TN2 4QU (opportunities for hybrid working following successful completion of 6-month probation)

Hours:

37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Salary:

Range - 27,000 - 30,000 dependent on experience

This role involves working as part of the Finance Team to deliver an efficient and supportive service to Aspens which underpins the services to our clients and partners and adheres to our Charities Values - Empowerment, Inclusivity, Integrity. An integral part of the Finance team, ensuring Income transactions are transacted promptly and accurately, ensuring funds are received on a timely basis within agreed terms.

We are seeking a

Senior Credit Control Officer

to join our Finance Team. This is a key role responsible for managing all aspects of credit control, income accounting, and sales ledger processes. You will ensure funds are received promptly, accounts are reconciled accurately and financial reporting meets agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:



Manage credit control processes and maintain strong relationships with external funders.

Oversee invoicing for fee and contract income, including uplifts and recharges.

Ensure accurate VAT application across all income streams.

Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports.

Lead on managing resident funds accounts and landlord/housing income reporting.

Support year-end processes and external audits.

Identify and escalate bad debt risks promptly.

We're looking for someone who is:



Experienced in credit control (minimum 3 years in a similar role).

Skilled in account reconciliation and problem-solving.

IT literate with strong Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI is desirable.

Self-motivated, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:



5 GCSEs (including English & Maths, grades A-C or 9-4).

Recent experience in credit control and working with local authorities.

Numerate with good time management skills.

Desirable:



AAT qualification or studying towards financial qualifications.

Experience in the social care sector and knowledge of Charity SORP.
